High Ranking Employment Skills in Agriculture, Agrifood and Agri-science

would i need a resume to apply at Express if i don’t have any past experience or previous employment?

I am 18 and i have no past employment the only experience i have is being Office Assistant at school and working the plant sale at my schools agriculture fundraiser and managing the cash register at my brothers business ( i didn’t get paid though i just did it to help him out). I also don’t have many achievements all of my achievements are based on soccer like getting the spot of captain and getting all league 1st team.

Do i still need to make a resume to be a store associate at Express? even if the resume is going to be kind of empty?
Or can i do a cover letter stating my Pros?

No you don’t need a resume to work at a store, you just fill out an application there. However, it would be good to start a resume now, even if it’s short. While you still remember exact dates.

BTW Hope you like folding clothes and straightening them!

Agriculture in Ethiopia

Agriculture in Ethiopia

$117.9

Agriculture in Ethiopia is the foundation of the countrys economy, accounting for half of gross domestic product (GDP), 83.9 of exports, and 80 of total employment. Ethiopias agriculture is plagued by periodic drought, soil degradation caused by overgrazing, deforestation, high population density, high levels of taxation and poor infrastructure (making it difficult and expensive to get goods to market). Yet agriculture is the countrys most promising resource. A potential exists for selfsufficiency in grains and for export development in livestock, grains, vegetables, and fruits. As many as 4.6 million people need food assistance annually. Agriculture accounts for 46.3 of the GDP, 83.9 of exports, and 80 of the labour force. Many other economic activities depend on agriculture, including marketing, processing, and export of agricultural products. Production is overwhelmingly of a subsistence nature, and a large part of commodity exports are provided by the small agricultural cashcrop sector. Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing in Japan

Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing in Japan

$58.94

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Agriculture, forestry, and fishing form the primary sector of industry of the Japanese economy, together with the Japanese mining industry, but together they account for only 1.3 of gross national product. Only 15 of Japans land is suitable for cultivation, but the agricultural economy is highly subsidized and protected. Agriculture, forestry, and fishing dominated the Japanese economy until the 1940s, but thereafter declined into relative unimportance. In the late 19th century, these sectors had accounted for more than 80 of employment. Employment in agriculture declined in the prewar period, but the sector was still the largest employer by the end of World War II. It was further declined to 23.5 in 1965, 11.9 in 1977, and to 7.2 in 1988. The importance of agriculture in the national economy later continued its rapid decline, with the share of net agricultural production in GNP finally reduced between 1975 and 1989 from 4.1 to 3 In the late 1980s, 85.5 of Japans farmers were also engaged in occupations outside of farming, and most of these parttime farmers earned most of their income from nonfarming activities. Rural NonFarm Employment in India and Thailand

Rural NonFarm Employment in India and Thailand

$113.11

In most of the developing countries employment in agriculture and modern formal sector is not increasing in proportion to the rise in output. There is presence of large scale unemployment, underemployment and disguised unemployment. The per capita availability of cultivable land is fast diminishing. These developments see creation of jobs in the rural nonfarm sector as an alternative strategy for solution to problems of rural unemployment, underemployment and poverty. This book analyses the dynamics of the rural nonfarm employment situation in two of the important Asian economies i.e. India and Thailand. It explains that in both the countries nonfarm sector is heterogeneous across activities and agricultural growth is one of the important determinants of nonfarm employment. However diversification of rural nonfarm employment has been more pronounced in Thailand than in India. It suggests that Public policy to develop this sector should be activity and region specific. This book will of great interest and use to global developmental practitioners, economists, Asian scholars and policy administrators particularly those in the developing world. Agriculture in Sustainable Rural Development

Agriculture in Sustainable Rural Development

$152.95

This book assesses the design, formulation, and implementation of Ghanas Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy II (GPRS II) and its effects on rural agricultural livelihoods development. The study reviews major literature on the role of agriculture in sustainable rural development. It offers critical perspectives on realising the potential multiplier effects of sustainable agriculture in sustainable rural development promotion in developing countries, especially those in Africa. The book offers perhaps the most comprehensive documentation of a microlevel analysis of the GPRS II on agricultural productivity and enhancing smallholder farmers livelihoods to create more private sector employment and reduce poverty. This book also has a wide applicability import, seen in its innovative and multidimensional methodology for livelihoods resilience assessment, which could be applied in analysing poverty reduction interventions elsewhere in the world. The analysis should be particularly useful to professionals and students of development planning and management, especially those interested in sustainable agricultural and other rural livelihood development issues. The State of Subsistence Agriculture in Ethiopia

The State of Subsistence Agriculture in Ethiopia

$160.91

Agriculture dominates the Ethiopian economy, accounting for about 50 percent of its GDP and 82 percent of its employment. However, the sector has always performed poorly. The largest proportion of farmers live below the poverty line and few and poorly provided social amenities are available in rural areas. Sectorallevel data shows that the farmers in Ethiopia use little modern inputs, output per hectare is low, and land holdings have been increasingly fragmented. Although fertilizer is the most widely used modern input, application rates are abysmally low. Use of improved seeds and pesticides is almost nonexistent. Among a group of comparable countries Ethiopian farmers performed the poorest. If Ethiopian farmers were to achieve the average yield levels reported in these countries it would at least be selfsufficient in cereals production. This study used panel data to analyze the sources of output growth and technical efficiency among subsistence farmers in Ethiopia. A stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) was used to assess the variation in technical efficiency in addition to accounting for the sources of growth in agricultural output.
