How to get a milking parlour in Northern Ireland?

I live in northern ireland and am wanting to have a dairy farm when i am a little older.

I am wondering if anyone can give me some websites for agricultural building engineers or something.

And if it isn’t a fact of, making a complete milking parlour in 1, then do you have to buy a shed, and just get the milking equipment installed seperately?

Remember im from NI so make sure the engineers are based around there.

Thanks

Don’t forget to put cows in the equation too:)

Thought people inherited or bought farms with milking parlours but don’t see why you can’t buy the land, the cows, the shed, the equipment……need a career in banking/law/IT first to get the funds.

Also don’t forget the rising at dawn, twice daily milking, no days off, no holidays unless good family/friends/employees..oh and the trying to de-ice the frozen metal equipment while cows moo frantically in winter.

Don’t mean to be so neg but these are things I hear about – otherwise it’s bliss!

Dairy farming is a class of agricultural, or an animal husbandry, enterprise, for longterm production of milk, usually from dairy cows but also from goats and sheep, which may be either processed onsite or transported to a dairy factory for processing and eventual retail sale. Most dairy farms sell the male calves born by their cows, usually for veal production, or breeding depending on quality of the bull calf, rather than raising nonmilkproducing stock. citation needed] Many dairy farms also grow their own feed, typically including corn, alfalfa, and hay. This is fed directly to the cows, or is stored as silage for use during the winter season. Additional dietary supplements are often added to the feed to increase quality milk production Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 88 Publication Date: 2010/07/24 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.21 inches

Profitability of Dairy Farming in PeriUrban Areas

Profitability of Dairy Farming in PeriUrban Areas

Agriculture is Ugandas key economic activity, accounting for 23.6 of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Livestock production is an integral part of the agricultural system accounting for 20 of the agricultural GDP. Given the high productivity associated dairying, farmers have adopted modern dairying techniques. Livestock production is efficient given the available resources. Due to the increasing population pressure, coupled with high tradeoff of land due to urbanization, land has become a scarce resource, thus, leading to reduced availability agricultural land. Beef became expensive, thus leaving milk as the alternative source nutrients to supplement other foods. This increased dairy products demand, hence compelling farmers to spend resources to meet the demand. Notably, most farmers dont know how much profit accrues from dairying yet a better understanding of periurban dairying would enable an ecologically sustainable and economically competitive enterprise. This book avails an analysis of the profitability of dairying in Makindye Division and his should help shed light on dairying in periurban areas, and benefit agricultural professionals, or those wish do dairying. A dairy is a facility for the extraction and processing of animal milkmostly from cows or goats, but also from buffalo, sheep, horses or camels for human consumption. Typically it is a farm (dairy farm) or section of a farm that is concerned with the production of milk, butter and cheese. Terminology differs slightly between countries. In particular, in the U.S. a dairy can also be a facility that processes, distributes and sells dairy products, or a room, building or establishment where milk is kept and butter or cheese is made. In New Zealand English a dairy means a corner convenience store, or Superetteand dairy factory is the term for what is elsewhere called a dairy. As an attributive, the word dairy refers to milkbased products, derivatives and processes, and the animals and workers involved in their production: for example dairy cattle, dairy goat. A dairy farm produces milk and a dairy factory processes it into a variety of dairy products. These establishments constitute the dairy industry, a component of the food industry Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 174 Publication Date: 2009/12/28 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.40 inches
