My boyfriend may have been fired illegally, is there anything we can do about it?
My boyfriend turned his supervisor in for doing drugs at work. Then two days later his supervisor fired him. They are calling it a layoff, but we believe it is because he turned his boss in. This company is not too legal anyways. They have loads of stolen farm equipment and they require their workers to “volunteer” time without being payed. Is there anyway to take legal action against this company. This is a small town family owned company that has been around for 20 years. Please help!
When he goes in to file unemployment, they usually have a Labor Board or something similar to it there. Go and talk to them. Also, there are attorneys who will sue and not charge you anything but will take half the proceeds if you win. But this is a long haul and probably not very practical.
