How can I afford to by my parents land/small farm/home when they divorce? I do not want to see the farm go.?

My parents are getting divorced. We currently live on a small farm with 12 acres and a moderate sized home. When they split up they are auctioning everything off. We have quite a bit of money in farm machinery. I will be completely destroyed mentally if I see this place being sold and I can not take the opportunity to make this farm grow. I am wanting to know if there are any type of investors into this type of dealing. Please, any information will help me. I am determined to keep this farm.

Apply for a loan or ask your parents if they will work something out with you so you can make payments to them for the land, home and machinery. Investors will mean that they own the property, not you, unless you can work out a split in which case they will probably still have majority. An investor may allow you to work it but the property and any income generated from it would be theirs.

It’s unfortunate but if your parents need the money or no longer wish to maintain the property you really can’t stop them from auctioning off their property. I’m sorry, it’s a sucky position to be in and have to deal with.
