Farmers Equipment

Does fertilizer runnoff only occur with synthetic fertilizer and not organic fertilizer?
If this is the case, then why is fertilizer runoff such a problem? Wouldn’t farmers prefer organic to inorganic fertilizers, seeing as they have the equipment for it (cows, etc.,)?
Also, are there other industries besides the farming industry that would have any need to use fertilizers in the ground? Is this what’s causing the inorganic fertilizer runoff?
Answers to my questions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!
Thanks in advance!
As a matter of fact the runoff in synthetic fertilizers is higher than in organic ones.
Synthetic fertilizers are made to release the nutrients readily and in a known concentration and ratio. Most of them are made to be used as short-time-fertilizer with a relatively constant rate of release.
Organic fertilizers vary in composition, the amounts of applied nutrients cannot be precisely known, but their amount is lower, more diluted. Their benefit lies in use as long-time-fertilizer.
Of cause should farmers use their organic fertilizers, but in case the need arises they have to add some synthetic ones.
Besides in farming industry fertilizers are used in gardening ( official gardens, zoos, market gardening and private gardens.
By the way, in my country every family collects brown waste in a so called “bio-ton” > organic waste collection bin. A city enterprise picks it up and composts it alltogether in a central plant. It is used for parks etc. Citizens may call for it too.
