Is corn syrup unhealthy? its effects on organic crops?
My friend who follows a raw food diet and is highly conscious of ingredients informed me that corn syrup is in practically everything that regular grocer chains carry, super unhealthy and unncessary as well and somehow hurts the organic farms…am having difficulty finding publications on the topic. any links/what do u know about corn syrup being unhealthy/disastrous to organic crops?
just had a hard time finding info. about how it negatively effects organic crops. thanks for the book mention though! =)
High fructose corn syrup is the chief cause of obesity in children. It has no nutritive value at all and just builds fat, like the empty calories in booze.
Much of it comes from genetically altered yellow dent corn. It has been modified so that herbicides such as Round-Up or Liberty can be sprayed on the fields for weed control without harming the frankencorn.
