Careers relating to sound waves/sound waves in space?

What careers are there that you’d work and study different sound waves? or sound waves in space seems interesting too. I love learning about stuff like the LRAD, and how it’s just sound producing so much pressure it can destroy things. what career field would that type of stuff be in?

Since there is very few free floating molecules in space (its practically a perfect vacuum). Sound transmission does not work well. You could study sound generation and transmission in a plasma, as in stars – or sound transmission in low pressure or non-terrestrial atmosphere’s. but that’s pretty much it.

Otherwise, you can work on sound and vibration damping in rocket launches. Spacecraft interior acoustics (the ISS has a horrible noise control problem).
