Do Quarter Horses & Quarter Horse crossbreds make good eventers?

Why or why not for each?

Yes, QH’s are seen in many levels of competition. A stocky one probably wouldn’t do as well but I have a friend who does eventing with her QH and I see many at trials!

Quarter horse crosses really depend what it is crossed with. Of course almost any breed can do lower level eventing but it really becomes a test when you get to the higher levels, the less agile, fit ones start to thin out. So if you take your knowledge of lighter, agile breeds for eventing then you would want a QH cross with something light like a TB or Arabian.

But then again you see every breed in the lower levels of eventing so if that is what you are doing it really doesn’t matter. Any breed is capable of it.
