Why would State Farm want me to use their contractor and not mine?
I have a water leak in the slab under my home and I need extensive repair to the walls and flooring in kitchen and dining area after the plumbers do their thing. The claims adjuster tried to sell me on the State Farm certified general contractors on me saying it was a premium service to have them.
I know plenty of contractors who can do what I need done. Is there a benefit to using a contractor provider by the insurer or is State Farm just trying to control the amount of money they will have to pay out? Thanks.
They are trying to minimize their costs. A “certified” contractor probably just means one who has agreed to do the work for less in exchange for getting insurance work referred to them.
