Dairy Farming $70.1 Dairy farming is a class of agricultural, or an animal husbandry, enterprise, for longterm production of milk, usually from dairy cows but also from goats and sheep, which may be either processed onsite or transported to a dairy factory for processing and eventual retail sale. Most dairy farms sell the male calves born by their cows, usually for veal production, or breeding depending on quality of the bull calf, rather than raising nonmilkproducing stock. citation needed] Many dairy farms also grow their own feed, typically including corn, alfalfa, and hay. This is fed directly to the cows, or is stored as silage for use during the winter season. Additional dietary supplements are often added to the feed to increase quality milk production Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 88 Publication Date: 2010/07/24 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.21 inches |

UpGradation of Shafi Dairy Farm $103.56 This Management Research Project is related to Up Grading a conventional Dairy Farm of Shafi Reso Group on the basis of detailed and comprehensive research/analysis of Dairy Sector. Milk is a vital part of human food.As the population is increasing so the demand in All the developing countries like Pakistan. Hence upgradation of conventional farms is the only solution. Current practices at the said farm are totally conventional yielding very low milk production throughout whole lactation period. Total area available for the construction of farm is about half an acre in the factory area, so a design has been proposed for construction of Modern Dairy farm infra structure as per the availability of funds with our client. In feed, green fodder play an important role to get maximum production but in modern world there is no concept of dairy farming without silage so we have suggested preparation of Silage at farm. Management of Cows, Calves and Heifers is advised. Market around the farm has too much potential for milk sale as this is a totally industry area.A complete marketing plan has been charted out for the sale of milk. Animal Factory: The Looming Threat of Industrial Pig, Dairy, and Poultry Farms to Humans and the Environment $4.99 Recent public health crises raise urgent questions about how our animal-derived food is raised and brought to market. In Animal Factory, bestselling investigative journalist David Kirby exposes the powerful business and political interests behind large-scale factory farms, and tracks the far-reaching fallout that contaminates our air, land, water, and food. In this thoroughly researched book, Kirby follows three families and communities whose lives are utterly changed by immense neighboring animal farms. These farms (known as “Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations,” or CAFOs), confine thousands of pigs, dairy cattle, and poultry in small spaces, often under horrifying conditions, and generate enormous volumes of fecal and biological waste as well as other toxins. Weaving science, politics, law, big business, and everyday life, Kirby accompanies these families in their struggles against animal factories. A North Carolina fisherman takes on pig farms upstream to preserve his river, his familyÂ’s life, and his home. A mother in a small Illinois town pushes back against an outsized dairy farm and its devastating impact. And a Washington State grandmother becomes an unlikely activist when her home is invaded by foul odors and her water supply is compromised by runoff from leaking lagoons of cattle waste. Animal Factory is an important book about our American food system gone terribly wrong–and the people who are fighting to restore sustainable farming practices and save our limited natural resources. |
